My views on ERP (Navision Attain)

Its been a very busy day, Work is Tough as ever and looks like its going to get even tougher, Lord just give me the Grace I need to take it. Navision as an ERP application software to me is pretty rigid, compare to Ariba Buyer ( eProcurment) and yet we using it here try our best to work with it, but to make matters worse the implementation by the IT team at the place where I work, to me I think they have done a not so good job, poor deployment , poor training and users inability to totally grasp the pros and cons of this ERP application.

I can not say I have not learnt any thing here where I work, but to a large extent most of these stuff I learnt them by experimenting on my own with the system and reading a lot of stuff on ERP from the internet.

Well I will keep building my knowledge base on different ERP applications its for my own good .
I think I can go home now, I have done enough for today, it’s a Wednesday and anyone that knows Port Harcourt city very well ,know it’s the day, people trade on a major road, the Aba expressy road, thereby causing tremendous traffic jam, coming to work this morning I had walk some distance cuz the hold up was bad, its 5:53pm and I hear its not subsiding. Gat to go

Supply chain management Goal and challenges

Supply Chain Management Goal and Challenges

The ultimate goal of supply chain management is to completely “synchronize” every supply chain cycle with the customer’s final demands. In reality, however, the goal is difficult to meet. Most customers face two business environment challenges, the “globalization” of the world economy and the emergence of the “customer economy".

Globalization of the world economy has resulted in extending supply chains, as customers seek comparative advantage and access to new markets. The emergence of the Customer Economy has changed the way businesses respond to demand. Product life cycles are shrinking, R&D timelines are shortening and the demand for a greater variety of product choices is growing.

The efficient management of the flow of goods, services and information along a supply chain - from the procurement of raw materials, through suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors, to consumers and end-users - is becoming increasingly criticalFocus is on order-fulfillment and demand satisfaction allowing to deliver value through service excellence.

SCM Challenge: Emergence of the Customer Economy

Increasingly more demanding Customers- Decreasing product life cycles and time for Research and Development - Increase in variety of products demanded - from mass production of small items, to small production runs of many items- More important to produce what customers want, when they want, as much as they want, and in the proper locations.- Effective coordination among supply chain partners is increasingly important.

Customer Economy presents SCM challenges

Customers increasingly want to work with a single provider who can manage the flow of product and information throughout their entire demand/supply chain - Difficulty in forecasting Customer demand- Coordination is required throughout supply chain- Communication among multiple partners with varying technologies- Local optimization at different stages within the supply chain- Reacting to changes and problems in an extended supply chain- Information distortion and variability within supply chain- Effective communication and cooperation among supply chain partners
Other challenges
- Further distances and longer lead times to manage - More complicated transportation routes and distribution patterns - Increasingly larger number of participants in supply chain - Increased risk of the Bullwhip effect due to number of additional of trading partners - More difficult to respond to Consumer demand in a timely fashion - Greater chance for weather or natural disasters to impact plans - Communication and coordination problems increase

Purchasing,Supply Chain Management, and Logistics Business ( Local and Global)

SCM

Supply chain management (SCM) is the combination of art and science thatgoes into improving the way your company finds the raw components itneeds to make a product or service and deliver it to customers.
The following are five basic components of SCM.
1.PPC (Production Planning)
2.Purchase (Sourcing/Vendor Development)
3.Production (Manufacturing)
4.Despatch (Delivery/Logistics /Warehouse )
5.Stores (Receipts/Issues/ Storage)
A supply chain is a network of facilities and distribution options thatperforms the functions of procurement of materials, transformation ofthese materials into intermediate and finished products, and thedistribution of these finished products to customers. Supply chainsexist in both service and manufacturing organizations, although thecomplexity of the chain may vary greatly from industry to industry andfirm to firm.

LORD I Praise YOU, N you alone

Well this is my first Post.. i had tried this weblog thing a couple of time before but i never had the garce to just be a blogger, but now i just want to try again.. i had a blog at myspace, but forgot he password cuz i have not been there .... in a long while. But i will take this one really serious this time.

Its october 1st, its just 3 months to the end of the year, and God your great, greater than i can ever pronounce the word great, you have been faithful Lord Jesus!!, even when i was soooooooooooooooooooooooo!! unfaithful, Those many day and nights i could not pray, just reaching out for what pleased me.. still in Loe you have proved faithful, thats why last night as the hour past 12 midnight watching TBN, and listening to that song ''You BEEN faithful'', i couldnt help but just cry, you just too good to me and my family lord..My bro got married, my Folks back home are doing good.. and with all the ups and downs, you never left us alone simply because you care too much... so LORD!! i praise you.

Lord you said these words'' Talitah cumi'' meaning raise UP!!, thats my theme for the rest of the year, i know i have been down for way too long, now my spirit cries out to you and i hear you say to me TALITAH CUMI... I know i have great things ahead of me, and my future matters to you, even more than it dose to me, because, my vision sometimes is blurred but you see right through... Make me to be what you have made me.
