Two big names IBM and DHL in IT and 3PL industry respectively arejointly developing and marketing WMS for logistics service providers. Apress release from IBM says" DHL Exel Supply Chain, the logistics specialist at Deutsche Post WorldNet, and the IBM business consulting firm Global Business Services havejointly developed a new IT-based warehouse-managemen t solution forKarstadt Warenhaus GmbH. The value of the euro-denominated contract isin the double-digit range. Starting in mid-2008, 11 DHL locations willbe equipped with the new solution, known as system platform logistics.Once the system goes into operation, Karstadt will profit fromsignificantly improved logistics processes and falling costs"Source:
